Citi Mobile Lite for Apple Watch

The Citi Mobile® Lite for Apple Watch® restores a personal touch with a wearable tap by discreetly displaying account balances and up to the minute transactions. Designed to offer Citi customers a frictionless experience we levered Citi Mobile® Snapshot which gives them accessto their accounts without having to log on multiple times a day, which encourages Citi customers to have financial mindfulness with the twist of a wrist. The partnership between Citi and IBM Interactive Experience leveraged the IBM Design Thinking framework, which enabled us to co-create an innovation which positioned Citi customers at the heart of our design, every step of the way. As a result of the partnership Citi Mobile® Lite for Apple Watch® was featured as the exclusive banking application in the Apple Store at the launch of the watch. It was named one of the 15 Coolest apps for Apple Watch by Time Magazine; A Must Download app by Yahoo; The most promising bank app by BankRate; and was named one of the 50 Beautifully Designed Apple Watch® apps by Crittercism.

Problem:

Transactional banking has many barriers that keep customers from accessing their money. Everything from pin codes, long lines, to security codes are just a few blockers that makes banking laborious and difficult. How can we make everyday banking easily accessible yet secure?

Solution:

The Borderless Bank. Using snapshot banking data from a customer’s account, we created the world first banking app for the Apple watch. Easy, seamless & secure. 

Impact:

By making it easier for customers to access their accounts with a twist of their wrist, Citi transformed the relationship between you and your money.
